Why the name 'Sesame'?

"Sesame" is taken from the expression "Open Sesame" (iftah ya-simsim), from Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. According to Wikipedia, the opening of the cave by saying 'Open Sesame' reflects the distinguishing feature of the sesame seed pod, which bursts open when it reaches maturity. This is a story from ancient Arabia, and the Arabia of today is a focus of our company.

"Open" is about Open Source products. There are many open source products that are good quality and effective tools for supporting learning; for example the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment. This means the quality of training and education does not need to be limited by budget.

The secret password "Open Sesame" opened the door to a cave full of treasure. This is Sesame's goal: to open to you a cave full of treasure. We believe that well designed e-learning can be like discovering treasure, as it can open the way to effective and successful education and training, in corporate bodies and educational institutions.
